The Equine Experience
Join us in "The Equine Experience". Each week we give the preschool children an opportunity to engage with retired, rescued and recovering horses. Its through this experience that we introduce children to the wonderful world of horses.
Weekly we bring one child to Wishbone Ranch and allow the child to experience the support and caring of the horses at This Old Horse. By feeding, grooming, ground work and general affection, both the child and the horse gain trust and appreciation for each other.
Currently we are working with two mini horses, affectionately named Pixie and Tink. This mini duo is a relatively new addition to the rescue program but these sweet girls have already stolen the hearts of the children that recently attended the Holiday Party at Wishbone Ranch.
The shared goal between This Old Horse and Reaching for the Stars Childcare is to join in reestablishing the rescued horses in order to promote the adoption of these horses into forever homes. Through this process, both the horses and the children will be enriched by this experience.
